A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud hosting with our company and you would like to activate the catch-all functionality for a particular email mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you’ve set up using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you don’t want this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
